You know you're a Kindergarten teacher when . . . . . .
You find random things in your pockets at the end of the day (rubber bands, crayons, paper clips, legos, math manipulatives etc)
You have a hard time winning Words with Friends because your brain automatically looks for and creates cvc words.
You get excited about new markers, crayons, stickers and colorful paper.
You can recite each of the Alphafriends (Houghton Mifflin) and do their sound and motion on cue.
Your friends and family ask you not to "Love and Logic" them.
You spend way too much time working on school stuff/looking online for new ideas. You also spend too much money purchasing cute things for your classroom (because seriously you can find a purpose for EVERYTHING).
You recite the following phrases multiple times a day "Is that helpful or unhelpful?" "Please get your body/voice under control", "Put a hand on your hip, and a finger on your lip" "1,2,3 eyes on me" and "Please make a Kelso's Choice".

Listening Post
My kiddos LOVE listening centers. It's great for them to hear great stories read out loud, but with our stations running 15 minutes each I needed something else for them to do. Enter the "Listening Post". This worksheet is simple, the kiddos have to write the title of the book, decide whether or not they liked the story and then draw a picture of their favorite part. Click on the picture below to get your own copy.
Figuring this all out. . .
I'm still trying to figure out how to upload and share some of the resources I've created to use in my classroom. So bear with me.
